Raised Garden Beds

Raised Garden Beds

We do custom built raised garden beds, or we can install your pre-built kits. Just contact us to discuss what you’re looking for and we’ll get you a fair and accurate estimate as quickly as possible. Most raised garden bed installations run about a half a day to a full say depending on how level the site is and material choice. It’s easiest if you email us for an estimate / quote but you may also check out some standard raised beds for purchase here.

We can build your raised garden beds from:

  • Wood (Recycled, New, Treated, Untreated)
  • Cedar or Fir
  • Railroad Ties
  • Landscape Timbers
  • Stone (Cinders, Pavers, or anything else that can be stacked and remain permeable (ex: Bricks with no Mortar))
  • PVC / Plastic
  • Customer Provided Materials
  • Customer Provided Kits

We will also, as requested:

  • Treat the wood with linseed oil / other finish
  • Line the beds with landscape fabric for weed prevention
  • Line the raised garden beds with wire mesh for rodent and critter prevention

Additionally, we can advise you or deliver our successful blend of garden / flower / planting soil.

Further, we can treat raised garden beds with linseed oil for organic gardening.

Benefits of raised garden beds include:

  • Choice of Materials
  • Control over soil composition
  • Improved soil drainage
  • Less soil compaction
  • Easier weed control
  • Warmer soil temperature in spring
  • Ease of access
  • Reduced soil erosion
  • Beauty

Other Tips:

“As with normal garden soil, raised beds require regular fertilizer and lime application. Conduct a soil test to determine soil needs. Overhead irrigation does not work well on raised beds due to their limited size. For small beds, hand watering works well. Drip irrigation systems work well in raised garden beds. Mulching raised beds with organic or other mulches helps reduce water loss from the soil.”
